During the past 33 years I have designed many different sculpture, but I have never designed a corpus for a crucifix. The vast majority of the over 85 sculptures I have developed into bronze statues bare a wildlife and western theme, depicting animals or ranch life. However, there have been a few small sculpture and two heroic size sculptures with a religious theme. One of the heroic sculptures has five figures and is a depiction of Pilot washing his hands of Jesus. It stands 8 feet tall and 8 1/2 feet in diameter and is installed at a South Carolina religious retreat center. The second heroic sculpture is a pair of stainless steel fabricated 14 foot tall flaming cross and they are installed on the exterior of United River Side Methodist Church in Park Rapids, MN. The third large sculpture depicts a male Papermaker holding a ream of paper, standing 8 1/2 feet tall and is installed at the Blandin Paper Foundation, Grand Rapids, MN.
The bronze corpus in the above sculpture is mounted to a hand hewn cherry wood cross. The thorns and the nails in the hands and feet are 23k gold leaf. If you wish to see the bronze crucifix it is installed at the St. Peter The Apostle Catholic Church in Park Rapids, MN.
