During the spring of the year in northern Minnesota the marshes come alive with activity from all sorts of creatures. The pair of trumpeter swans in the landscape oil painting above have found an ideal abandoned muskrat house on which to build a nest. From this particular nest the pair hatched four cygnets. Marshes, aside from fresh water filtration, provide ideal habitat for creatures like the trumpeter swan.
